Over the years, AntsInPants Tours has grown out of our passion, experience, and genuine connection to nature.
Today, we design tours that are personalized, accessible, and planned with a deep understanding of this unique region.
My name is Michael, founder of AntsInPants Tours and your local contact.
I’m originally from Bavaria and have a master’s degree in outdoor sports and event management. The idea for AntsInPants Tours came to me while I was pursuing my master’s degree.
Today I live in Swedish Lapland and know the region not just as a traveler, but from my daily life here. The nature, the seasons, and the tranquility here shape my work and every tour we offer.
I lead most of the tours myself. It’s important to me that you feel comfortable outdoors, move around safely, and experience Lapland as it truly is: peaceful, intense, and free from the hustle and bustle.
AntsInPants Tours was born out of a passion for sharing this special region with others and creating authentic, personal experiences.
I'm Esther, Michael's partner, and I mainly help out behind the scenes at AntsInPants Tours.
I work as a pharmacist in Arjeplog and don’t regularly join the field trips. Nevertheless, I play an important role: I help with decision-making, keep track of everything, and assist in organizing ideas into clear structures.
I grew up in Tyrol, where hiking has always been a part of my life. Nature is an important source of balance for me and remains an integral part of my daily life to this day.
I’m also passionate about everything related to construction and renovation; projects like the Villa Björklund are particularly close to my heart.

AntsInPants Tours is a small, independent tour operator in Swedish Lapland. We plan and lead outdoor trips in small groups or on a one-on-one basis—with a focus on nature, personalized attention, and authentic, down-to-earth outdoor experiences. I (Michael) lead most of the tours myself, with the support of other guides and locals from Arjeplog.

He has lived in Lapland full-time for several years and offers his tours as a professional guide. As a result, he knows the region inside and out in every season—not just as a traveler, but from his daily life there.
Yes. In addition to scheduled group tours, we offer personalized, tailor-made trips. These private tours are designed for couples, families, companies, or small groups who prefer to travel without a large group and have specific activities in mind. We handle all the planning personally and directly.
We choose accommodations that suit your style and make you feel comfortable.
We’re intentionally small and personal. There are no impersonal processes or mass-produced tours—just personalized support, flexible planning, and a genuine connection to the region. This allows us to better cater to your needs and offer tours that aren’t “off-the-shelf.”
We operate on a regional basis, in small groups, and in collaboration with local partners. Our activities are environmentally friendly, and we strive to avoid unnecessary travel. We also support local organizations—for example, through the moose safari, the proceeds of which are reinvested in nature conservation.
